About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Operate and maintain various machinery and equipment in the engineering shop
  • Follow technical specifications and blueprints to ensure accurate production
  • Assist engineers in the development of prototypes and experimental projects
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to troubleshoot and refine prototypes
  • Perform routine maintenance on shop tools and equipment
  • Report malfunctioning equipment and coordinate repairs as needed
  • Manage and organize materials and components in the shop
  • Track inventory levels and notify appropriate personnel when supplies need replenishment
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines
  • Identify and address potential safety hazards
  • Keep detailed records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and shop activities
  • Document changes made to prototypes or machinery
  • Report prototype orders

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in engineering or a related field is a plus
  • 3-5 years’ experience as Manufacturing Assembly Technician, shop technician, or similar role in a production environment
  • Proficient in operating and maintaining a variety of assembly tools and machinery
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Measurement skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • Proven ability to work with word processing and spreadsheet programs (MS Office)
  • Proven work experience as a Manufacturing Assembly Technician or a similar role
  • Familiarity with filtration products is preferred
  • Experience in prototyping is a plus
  • Proficiency in CNC machining parts is preferred
  • Familiarity with CAD software is preferred
