About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and implement the Lean roadmap aligned with global, regional, and plant strategies
  • Support plant management in establishing strategic and Lean roadmaps
  • Ensure deadlines and targets defined in the Lean roadmap are achieved
  • Lead plant layout and value stream design to optimize space, improve material flow, and reduce throughput time
  • Develop Lean experts and promote a Lean mindset across the plant
  • Steer training and development needs related to the MANN+HUMMEL Production System (MHPS)
  • Lead productivity improvement initiatives and reduce operational waste
  • Coordinate and facilitate Kaizen, Hoshin, VSM, 5S, and SMED workshops
  • Train workshop participants to conduct improvement workshops autonomously
  • Propose concepts to improve production and logistics efficiency
  • Report progress and performance metrics to plant and regional management
  • Ensure MHPS implementation and apply Group Lean best practices
  • Act as Cross Assessor for MHPS assessments at other plants
  • Establish Lean tools and methodologies, including 5S, Pull Flow, Kanban, VSA/VSM/eVSM, VSD, TPM, and SMED
  • Support production planning, production control, logistics, quality, and employee empowerment practices
  • Lead quality, HR compliance, data protection, HSE, and process bottleneck improvement initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor degree in Industrial Engineering or similar / comparable educational background
  • At least 5 years of working experience in a similar function in the automotive industry
  • Operational management responsibility in production or logistics is desirable
  • Expert knowledge of LEAN tools, including 5S, KANBAN, and SMED
  • Willingness to travel
  • Fluent written and oral English; German is a plus
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office tools
  • Hands-on and shopfloor orientation
  • Analytical skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to secure commitment toward a common goal
  • Conflict management and drive for results
  • Ability to operate within a network and matrix organization
  • Familiarity with production processes such as pleating, plastic injection molding, plastic welding, and assembly is preferred
