About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead health, safety, and environmental initiatives at the Goleta, California facility
  • Serve as the site subject matter expert for HSE
  • Partner with plant leadership, managers, and employees to drive a strong safety culture
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and support continuous improvement of HSE programs
  • Develop, implement, and maintain site HSE systems, policies, and procedures aligned with internal standards and ISO requirements
  • Support risk assessments, training, audits, incident response, and regulatory communication
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Collaborate with CUPA, GSD, OSHA, Cal/OSHA, State Water Board, and APCD
  • Lead environmental compliance activities, including emissions monitoring and reporting
  • Monitor HSE legal and regulatory requirements and provide guidance
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions related to HSE incidents and risks
  • Maintain HSE management systems aligned with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
  • Support emergency preparedness, reporting, and compliance activities

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, HSE Management, Engineering, or related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in HSE or related role
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Strong regulatory compliance experience
  • Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and Cal/OSHA
  • Strong communication, training, project management, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Microsoft Office proficiency required
  • SAP is a plus
  • Additional environmental compliance knowledge in waste, water, or emissions preferred
