About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage key accounts for OE customers and specialized distributors in UK industrial market segments, with a focus on UK Defence business
- Identify prospective accounts and generate new customer portfolios to expand sales and market presence
- Cooperate with Category Managers to develop and execute market segment strategies
- Build, maintain, and expand customer relationships to support customer satisfaction and UK Industrial business growth
- Serve as the main interface and first point of contact for assigned UK customers
- Develop business according to group plans and targets and provide input for annual planning, quarterly forecasts, and monthly sales projections
- Define and execute market and customer strategies aligned with industry segment strategy
- Drive sales growth through existing distributors and specialized dealers and build relationships with new partners
- Ensure communication and knowledge transfer across involved sites, requiring on-site presence
- Work with customers on standard products, configurations, adaptations, customer-specific developments, and projects
- Lead business acquisition from early opportunities through quotation, decision, and product launch, where applicable
- Assess customer and market-segment feasibility across technical, commercial, legal, and timing dimensions
- Submit quotations and negotiate pricing in coordination with the Director Sales Europe
- Negotiate customer-specific contracts, including Long Term Agreements and Warranty Agreements, with relevant M+H locations and legal department
- Manage customer performance ratings for delivery, quality, and cost
- Coordinate and review regular reporting on pipeline, net sales, gross margin, overdue items, quality, and delivery
- Use company CRM tools such as Salesforce to record information, visit reports, opportunities, and leads
- Support other M+H departments with customer-related activities to ensure requirements are fulfilled on time
- Participate in M+H events and fairs in the UK and other European countries
- Visit events and fairs organized by existing and prospective customers
Requirements
What you’ll need- More than 5 years of relevant business experience in the relevant industry, preferably Defense and/or Marine
- Strong strategic and business acumen
- Strong customer-centric approach with excellent customer relationship management
- Enhanced knowledge of products, customers, and markets
- Knowledge of quality systems and standards such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
- Commercial, methodological, and analytical skills
- Communication, negotiation, and conflict management skills
- Coordination skills for harmonizing European strategies
- Leadership skills to coordinate a virtual and multicultural sales team
- Intercultural sensitivity
- Fluency in the local language and technical English, written and spoken
- Willingness to travel frequently in and outside the UK
