About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Plan, organize, and perform laboratory test activities according to procedures, drawings, diagrams, engineering documents, and specifications
  • Prepare work areas and set up testing equipment according to defined procedures
  • Set up test fixtures, including fabrication when necessary
  • Organize sample-tracking methodology
  • Perform preventative maintenance and calibration on assigned laboratory equipment
  • Maintain test records and prepare test documentation and reports
  • Communicate test status and results to test engineers and engineering group members
  • Maintain and organize testing equipment and fixtures to ensure lab cleanliness and security
  • Follow management policies, procedures, work instructions, and safety rules
  • Handle chemicals and fluids safely in accordance with MSDS
  • Perform hands-on work with air, oil, fuel, and hydraulic filters
  • Work with team members to maintain and improve lab equipment
  • Use hand tools including wrenches, hammers, and screwdrivers
  • Work on other projects or areas as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Associate degree in industrial technology or related discipline preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in an industrial or laboratory environment
  • Knowledge of test methods and techniques, test setup, tools, equipment, materials, and products
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate test results
  • Ability to work in teams and communicate effectively
  • Ability to take direction and training and work under minimal supervision once trained
  • Ability to learn lab databases (PVS, PLCM, etc.)
  • Mechanical aptitude and understanding of norms and specifications
  • Familiarity with ASTM, ISO, and customer specifications
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to work with basic tools
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move products weighing 50–100 lbs. regularly
