About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Repair, install, replace, maintain, and diagnose mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Make equipment repairs according to manufacturer recommendations and work instructions
  • Work with external contractors and supervise satisfactory completion of necessary work
  • Operate and maintain equipment according to safety requirements
  • Interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, ladder logic, and electrical code specifications
  • Work with Servo and VFD drives and program PLC controls
  • Maintain work-order records
  • Maintain, repair, test, and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems
  • Order materials, submit receipts, and reconcile transactions through the company SAP portal
  • Oversee third-party vendor relationships for equipment, purchases, leases, and contracts
  • Dismantle electrical equipment and replace faulty or defective parts in compliance with O.S.H.A., state, and local codes
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and participate in shop clean-up schedules and projects
  • Maintain the plant preventive-maintenance program
  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Ensure quality standards are met and stop processes when quality or safety standards are not met
  • Maintain plant spare-parts inventory
  • Identify and record product, process, or quality-system problems
  • Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels
  • Control further processing, delivery, or installation of non-conforming products until deficiencies are corrected
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of two years’ mechanical and electrical machine shop experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
  • Knowledge of basic plumbing
  • Understanding of 3D bar code scanners
  • Experience with basic carpentry
  • Ability to physically lift and maneuver weights in excess of fifty pounds
  • Ability to stand, move, climb, lift, kneel, crouch, reach, and handle
  • Basic knowledge of O.S.H.A., State and Local electrical codes
  • Willingness to work non-standard (overtime) hours as needed
  • Local travel as needed, up to 10%
  • Completion of a one-year industrial electrician or journeyman certification program preferred
  • ERP system experience, with SAP highly preferred
  • Training and/or experience with Polyurethane dispensing systems, hydraulics, machining, and PLC installation/programming
