About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform measurements and laboratory tests for purchased parts, semi-finished parts, finished parts according to control plan, and PPAP parts
  • Support R&D
  • Conduct product audits
  • Support problem investigations
  • Document activities in Palstat computer-aided quality management software
  • Manage calibration system for production and quality measuring and testing devices
  • Measure components according to customer specifications and relevant standards
  • Support proper use of Statistical Process Control (SPC) in production according to the control plan
  • Support Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) when required
  • Organize external and internal equipment calibration
  • Work with external vendors on product development, measurements, and calibrations
  • Immediately report non-conforming products for further disposition
  • Advise on proper measurement methods, equipment, and identification of drawing characteristics
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School diploma or GED
  • A minimum of 2 years' directly related experience in tool/part measurement, calibration, or machining within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to interpret drawings and requirements for ensuring the adherence to agreed Quality parameters
  • Expertise in performing tests in referring to the laboratory scope
  • Expertise in the calibration of test equipment including the use of calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, pressure gauges, torque guns, etc.
  • Intermediate computer usage skills including Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel)
  • Knowledge in statistical methodologies (preferred)
  • Palstat or other computer aided quality management software (preferred)
