About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Oversee daily production operations, including monitoring production costs and effectiveness
- Implement and ensure adherence to lean manufacturing, 5S and continuous improvement practices
- Communicate operational update plans to the management team
- Conduct safety audits and meetings to ensure safe production processes
- Optimize resources and allocate labor and capital to maximize productivity and meet quality and manufacturing standards
- Partner with plant leadership to address quality issues throughout the supplier-to-customer process
- Evaluate potential risks, ensure compliance with standards and regulations, and provide recommendations
- Facilitate audits and regulatory inspections
- Maintain records according to ISO, TS and EMS standards
- Ensure work areas and technical equipment are prepared for each production shift
- Assign personnel according to production needs and qualifications; identify and maintain training and development plans
- Participate in hiring and lead, develop, motivate, discipline and terminate direct reports in accordance with HR policy
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- University degree in Engineering or relevant field of technical or business education and experience
- 5–8 years of relevant work experience in the manufacturing industry
- Minimum 5 years of supervisory or management experience
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
- Prior Sage, SAP or MRP experience
- Understanding of profit and loss calculations and basic business finance
- Strategic thinking, planning, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of TS 16949 and ISO 14001 requirements
- Experience in mass production and improving existing production processes
- Strong understanding of safety requirements
- Must be able to read, understand and comply with written and verbal instructions, company processes and procedures, and safety policies
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
