About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Monitor and assure quality of purchased parts and materials throughout the purchased-part lifecycle
  • Serve as the supplier contact for APQP and serial-quality topics
  • Support project teams with risk assessments of purchased parts and suppliers
  • Initiate and coordinate APQP for purchased parts and consolidate product requirements in the PRFPP
  • Ensure technical and quality information flows between MANN+HUMMEL and suppliers
  • Monitor supplier APQP progress and escalate critical delays
  • Verify ISIR/PPAP documentation and resolve deviations with R&D and other functions
  • Conduct supplier process releases and production-readiness verifications
  • Share lessons learned and support SQA/SQD standardization and continuous improvement
  • Plan and organize Incoming Goods Inspection, quarantining, sorting and rework
  • Manage supplier quality complaints, day-to-day supplier concerns and series-part supplier training
  • Validate supplier corrective actions, including on-site follow-up
  • Review supplier performance using the Vendor Rating System
  • Drive supplier improvement programs and apply CSL1/CSL2 controlled-shipping rules
  • Plan and perform supplier process and product audits
  • Manage regular requalification of purchased components
  • Coordinate supplier deviations, concessions and changes through Technical Change Management
  • Stop non-conforming purchased-part deliveries when customer, safety or environmental requirements are affected
  • Manage Incoming Goods Inspectors, including budget, recruitment, resource allocation and personnel development

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University degree (Bachelor or Master) in Mechanical, Engineering degree or equivalent education
  • At least 7 years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing or Production functions in the relevant industry
  • Knowledge in and understanding of application of IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 requirements
  • Expertise in Advanced Quality Planning (APQP) and standard quality tools, including FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, Initial Sampling Process, Run Rate, and inspection methods
  • Ability to interpret drawings and requirements to ensure adherence to agreed quality parameters
  • Experience in product and process audits
  • Ability to apply and train suppliers in problem-solving and process capability tools
  • Certified VDA 6.3 auditor or equivalent
  • Experience in relevant production processes and technologies
  • Certification on CQI-09, 11, 12, 15, 23, 27 and 30 special process assessments
  • Ability to train suppliers on design of experiments, continuous improvement programs and lean manufacturing tools
  • Expertise in Customer Specific Requirements
  • Skills in component cleanliness management
  • Fluent written and spoken English
