About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct national compliance assessments against ISO 14001, ISO 45001, applicable British standards, and MAPP requirements
  • Support Technical Services with technical audits and site-based portfolio support
  • Support security assessments and audits where required
  • Provide dedicated technical resources across MAPP’s portfolio of sites in all regions
  • Manage incident investigation, reporting, corrective actions, and lessons learned
  • Review technical documentation for fit-out, project, and redevelopment work
  • Lead and assist operational teams managing HSE, MEP, VT, and consultant supply partners
  • Advise on MAPP-instructed MEP and VT projects and escalate requests to the Technical Service Lead
  • Guide responsible persons on compliance documentation and associated actions
  • Complete MEP compliance audits under ACOPs, ISO, and British standards
  • Provide input on project works from a maintenance and facilities-management perspective
  • Monitor changes to HSE legislation, British Standards, industry guidance, and good practice
  • Contribute to MAPP policies, procedures, audit standards, compliance guidance, and technical processes
  • Administer MEP data in Risk Wise and other electronic management systems
  • Manage technical site inspections and audits
  • Support fit-out, project, redevelopment, and small building works projects
  • Review contractor PPM documentation, logbooks, plant rooms, M&E equipment, water-management data, and contractor KPIs
  • Work with Sustainability and Climate Ready teams on building optimisation and energy-performance projects
  • Chair contractor meetings and issue minutes to close out actions
  • Review contractor quotations and provide client recommendations
  • Consider smart-building, IoT, MEES, climate-ready, and sustainability solutions
  • Conduct planned and reactive Health, Safety, Fire, and Environmental audits and inspections
  • Provide competent H&S advice to Property Managers, Facilities Managers, and operational teams
  • Review RAMS, safe systems of work, risk assessments, and permit-to-work arrangements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 2 years' experience working in a similar role
  • Demonstrable understanding of H&S, Environmental, Security, building engineering, technical services, and maintenance in high-quality commercial office property
  • Understanding of Health & Safety, COSHH, L8, LOLER, PUWER, IPAF, PASMA, and CDM
  • Experience conducting combined H&S audits and Fire Risk Assessments
  • Experience running unplanned incident preparedness tests and fire drills
  • Knowledge of working at height, confined spaces, and pressure systems
  • Substantial knowledge of operating and maintaining HVAC systems
  • Computer literate; able to create spreadsheets and presentations and write logical, succinct, persuasive reports
  • Experience leading the planning and delivery of audits
  • Able to host and run H&S and Technical Services training events
  • Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent experience
  • Relevant professional and/or technical qualification or membership of IWFM, NEBOSH, or IOSH
  • Experience of or working towards NCRQ Level 6 Diploma in Health and Safety
  • Minimum Tech IOSH essential
  • Desirable or willingness to complete ISO 45001:2018 Internal Auditor course
  • Desirable or willingness to complete IEMA Internal Auditor course
  • Legal right to work in the UK by the start date; MAPP does not provide immigration sponsorship
  • Availability for occasional out-of-hours support and guidance
