About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Architect and implement the reporting stack from zero, including source connections, a central data layer, and Looker as the reporting front end
  • Select and implement the ETL/ingestion approach for each source system
  • Build clean, documented data models
  • Make monthly reporting a review step rather than a data-entry exercise
  • Consolidate data across Shopify Plus, Pipedrive, QuickBooks Online, ShipStation, PandaDoc, Rippling, Google Analytics, and Asana
  • Establish agreed definitions for every metric and reconcile discrepancies between systems
  • Flag data quality problems and work with department leads to fix them at the source
  • Own the company-wide KPI framework and tracker
  • Produce monthly performance reporting for all nine departments across three brands
  • Explain performance movements, identify drivers, and flag leadership priorities
  • Run ad hoc analysis for the executive team on profitability, customer segments, sales performance, and operational throughput
  • Build and maintain Looker dashboards
  • Produce a monthly executive reporting package
  • Present findings to the executive team monthly and department teams regularly
  • Turn analysis into specific recommendations
  • Document every data source, definition, model, and process
  • Build scalable reporting as the company adds departments, brands, and acquisitions
  • Recommend and implement improvements to the data stack

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3–5 years in a data analyst, business intelligence, or analytics engineering role
  • Strong SQL
  • Hands-on experience building or managing a cloud data warehouse (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, or similar)
  • Experience implementing ETL/ingestion from SaaS APIs—Fivetran, Airbyte, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience building dashboards in Looker or Looker Studio from scratch, including the data model underneath them
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills
  • Proven ability to explain data to people who are not analysts and to present to executives
  • Fluent in English, with clear verbal and written communication
  • Preferred: E-commerce and CRM data experience, particularly Shopify and a sales CRM such as Pipedrive
  • Preferred: Familiarity with accounting data and financial concepts such as margin, COGS, and contribution
  • Preferred: Python or a similar language for data manipulation and automation
  • Preferred: Experience at a small company where you owned reporting end to end
  • Preferred: Experience integrating data from an acquired company into an existing reporting structure
