About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist with various engineering tasks and assignments
  • Prepare for and conduct field inspections under the direction of higher-level engineers
  • Perform data reduction, reporting, engineering analyses, and design activities
  • Prepare reports, studies, and related documents
  • Participate in technical review meetings with engineering and planning staff
  • Review engineering plans, reports, studies, and related documents
  • Work under the direction of a Project Engineer or higher

  • Adhere to required safety, health, and environmental practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Driven and aspiring civil engineering student
  • Higher-level mathematics, including trigonometry, algebra, geometry, and calculus, applied to surveying and engineering computations
  • 0–4 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of current literature, trends, and developments in engineering
  • Knowledge of construction practices, including concrete, steel, carpentry, and welding
  • Proficient in technical writing
  • Proficient in basic computer functions, including Microsoft Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to define problems, collect and interpret data, evaluate facts, draw valid conclusions, and communicate findings/results effectively
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage tasks efficiently
  • Self-starter able to work as independently as possible
  • Current medical certifications including bloodborne pathogens, first aid, CPR, and emergency oxygen administration if performing fieldwork
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
  • Willingness to travel within the continental United States as required
