About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform land and hydrographic surveys, including single-beam, multi-beam, and sonar imaging surveys
- Plan, coordinate, and execute survey projects and fieldwork
- Produce project deliverables
- Prepare project schedules and forecasts
- Coordinate technical and management aspects of projects
- Direct on-site safety activities and document safety meetings
- Adhere to quality assurance procedures
- Complete project administrative tasks and forms
- Inspect survey equipment and report deficiencies
- Operate vehicles, survey vessels, and associated support equipment
- Assist with development of survey procedures
- Assist with preparation of project scopes and estimates
- Plan and execute project quality control and assurance procedures
- Represent Marine Solutions professionally at field locations
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or certification
- Minimum 4 years of experience in land surveying
- Technical knowledge, experience, and capabilities in the area of practice
- High level leadership and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to travel up to 80% to project sites
- Ability to work irregular schedules, including early mornings, occasional weekends, and overnight travel
- Ability to work safely in varying weather and environmental conditions
- Ability to operate independently while traveling
- Ability to regularly sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
- Ability to walk in rugged conditions, work in adverse weather conditions, and stand for up to eight hours or more
- Ability to maintain current industry knowledge and expertise
- Travel inside the continental U.S. may be required
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
- Adherence to and participation in company safety, health, and environmental requirements
- Preferred: 4-year degree from an accredited college or university with coursework in engineering or a closely related field
- Preferred: AutoCAD or MicroStation proficiency
- Preferred: Certified Hydrographer
- Preferred: 10-hour OSHA General Construction Course
