About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop new business by working with potential customers completing a boat transaction with MarineMax or affiliated companies
- Build and maintain relationships with new prospects and existing customers
- Work with referral sources to develop insurance options for clients and grow the book of business
- Increase Newcoast’s reputation as a premier marine insurance provider
- Collaborate with carriers, sales and management to maintain a sustainable production pipeline
- Achieve customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives
- Cultivate relationships with MarineMax and subsidiary sales teams and business offices
- Meet with existing and prospective clients by telephone, email and chat
- Evaluate customer needs and propose risk management strategies and insurance policy plans
- Maintain production pipeline records, leads and prospecting activities in CRM systems
- Use dashboards and reporting to provide progress metrics to sales leadership
- Participate in CRM campaigns provided by the marketing team
- Update job knowledge through sales development training and learn about new insurance products and services
- Participate in quoting and placement for new business
- Meet book-of-business growth and new business targets
- Maintain renewal rate goals and quality standards
- Report metrics on pipeline activities, book growth and performance
- Identify optimization opportunities and provide recommendations to insurance placement divisions and leadership
- Develop effective working relationships with production, placement, service teams and stakeholders
- Improve alignment between lead management and marketing automation to enhance customer intelligence and experience
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in insurance or marine industry roles with an excellent understanding of placement, coverages and insurance operations
- Resident Property & Casualty agent license required in candidate’s home state, with ability to add non-resident licenses where necessary
- Experience and understanding of Applied EPIC, CRM systems, analytics and commonly used sales tools
- Proactive, organized, results-driven, self-driven, collaborative and technically savvy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to influence others and provide cross-functional leadership
- Ability to build rapport with clients quickly
- Experience and interest in recreational boating
- Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation abilities
- Good knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
