About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Partner with product, engineering, architecture, and data leaders to shape secure solutions from the outset
  • Assess the security of composite business platforms, including SaaS applications, custom-built tools, API integrations, data flows, and AI features
  • Identify trust boundaries, sensitive data, and key risks
  • Facilitate architecture and threat reviews and document outcomes
  • Build and maintain reusable secure-by-design patterns for SaaS, APIs, integrations, data movement, credentials, authorization, and AI-enabled workflows
  • Translate complex security requirements into clear, actionable designs
  • Advocate for security in vendor evaluation and SaaS selection
  • Assess vendor posture, identity, integrations, and data residency with enterprise and procurement teams
  • Collaborate with Security Platform Engineering to deliver self-service security capabilities, automated guardrails, and scalable workflows
  • Partner with Identity & Access and Infrastructure on authentication, authorization, and posture management
  • Establish security for AI-enabled products and workflows, including data boundaries, tool access, prompt risks, and audit controls
  • Provide security expertise for enterprise data strategy, product onboarding, M&A activity, and technology adoption
  • Define practical patterns for secure data flows and integrations
  • Serve as a trusted advisor through office hours and embedded team engagement
  • Mentor teams so they can make informed security decisions without waiting for approvals
  • Provide broad technical influence, mentorship, and technical leadership as a senior individual contributor

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience across security architecture, cloud/SaaS security, solutions architecture, engineering, or SRE/DevOps
  • At least 4 years in a dedicated security role
  • Deep experience designing or securing distributed systems comprising SaaS, APIs, custom applications, data integrations, and third-party services
  • Ability to analyze unfamiliar architectures quickly, identify security gaps, and guide practical solutions
  • Strong partnership skills with business, engineering, data, and architecture leaders
  • Ability to adapt security requirements to business needs and articulate tradeoffs
  • Hands-on engineering or architecture background plus business-facing experience is valued
  • Experience with SaaS- and integration-heavy environments or AI-enabled workflows is valued
  • Familiarity with data security concepts including classification, DLP, encryption, data lineage, and governance is valued
  • Background in financial services, wealth management, regulated environments, or M&A-driven technology integration is valued
  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CSSLP, or cloud security certifications are valued but not required
  • Systems-thinking and technical depth across SaaS, APIs, cloud, integrations, data, and AI workflows
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and documentation skills
  • Practical, enablement-focused security mindset
  • Adaptability and curiosity
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
