About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide Owner's Representative construction management services to a DoD client
- Design and develop mechanical heat load calculations and mechanical designs for renovation and new construction projects
- Review contractor proposals and designs and perform engineering analyses and evaluations
- Create and maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and scopes of work
- Support testing and commissioning activities related to mechanical systems
- Attend pre-construction site walks and provide feedback on required mechanical scope for final project scopes of work
- Develop heat load calculations and designs for in-house projects
- Review designs and calculations submitted by others and provide feedback
- Conduct follow-up surveillance during construction to ensure work follows approved drawings and design requirements
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering with 15+ years of mechanical engineering experience OR 20+ years of experience in the design/construction or operations of chillers, cooling towers, controls, pumps, fans, air handling equipment, and heat exchangers
- For the 20+ years alternative: experience working with construction management and projects greater than 250,000 square feet
- Professional Engineer (PE) License for the 20+ years alternative
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be able to pass and maintain a Public Trust clearance (HSPD-12 fingerprint background check)
- Extensive expertise in the construction industry
