About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, build, and maintain scalable backend applications and REST APIs using Ruby on Rails
Build and manage a REST API stack for Maropost Web Apps
Develop concrete architecture designs and prototypes aligned with big data, analytics, and cloud-native product strategy
Design scalable, performance-driven solutions
Drive innovation by improving engineering processes, tools, and technologies
Govern architecture and design for systems and products, including code and design reviews
Provide technical leadership to the development team and ensure industry-standard best practices
Evaluate and improve software development tools and frameworks
Design, develop, and architect complex web applications
Integrate with ML and NLP engines
Work with DevOps practices and technologies including CI/CD, monitoring, and Kubernetes
Work with DBMS technologies including MySQL and PostgreSQL
Scale applications using AWS or GCP

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a highly relevant field
Sound fundamental understanding of Data Structure, Algorithm
3+ years of experience building, designing, and architecting backend applications, web apps, and analytics
Experience in deploying applications at scale in production systems
Experience with platform security capabilities such as TLS and SSL
Experience with high-performance web-scale and real-time response systems
Experience building and managing API endpoints for multimodal clients
Advanced HLD, LLD, and Design Patterns knowledge
Hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL
Enthusiasm to learn and contribute to a challenging startup
Problem-solving ability and efficient coding practices
Very strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills
