About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as consultative point of contact for clients on coverages and marketing matters
- Identify client needs and provide recommendations with supporting rationale
- Assist the Producer in sales efforts, including responding to Requests for Proposals and participating in prospect meetings
- Sell additional lines and endorsements that enhance coverage and meet client needs
- Build and maintain client and carrier relationships by phone, email, and in person
- Develop marketplace knowledge and provide alternatives for risk transfer
- Coordinate with local and national leadership on line-of-business strategy, initiatives, and best practices
- Negotiate pricing, policy conditions, and terms with carriers
- Select the best carrier(s) for clients within marketing guidelines
- Collect client information with the Producer and account team
- Analyze coverage needs and develop marketing and renewal strategies
- Lead execution of marketing and renewal strategies with account teams and carrier representatives
- Lead renewal processes and prepare company applications and submissions
- Prepare proposals, finance agreements, and other presentations
- Present coverage and renewal recommendations to clients
- Lead renewal strategy, mid-year reviews, and annual stewardship meetings
- Visit prospects and clients as required
- Use client management systems and relevant technology platforms
- Attend seminars, classes, and carrier meetings to learn about new products and legislative changes
- Mentor and train account team members
- Provide interim marketing or technical support to account teams
- Perform other duties as requested by management
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and/or related experience
- Five years of relevant insurance industry experience
- Appropriate insurance license(s)
- Considerable knowledge of markets, policies and coverage issues for all states and industries serviced
- Organizational skills to plan and prioritize workload, and to oversee application of work flows and procedures
- Leadership skills, service, and team orientation to provide direction, praise, constructive feedback, and development to employees
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive business relationships
- Strong persuasion skills and tact to obtain information, negotiate with markets, obtain commitment or payments due from others, and motivate staff
- Discretion and problem solving skills to analyze client information, proposal competitiveness, and resolve problems
- Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to travel overnight
- Applicants must be within driving distance to the Dalton, GA office
- Ability to commute to the office a minimum of three days per week
