Key responsibilities & impact

Embed within client teams to understand workflows and frame business problems and commercial opportunities as AI problems
Lead delivery end to end: design, build, test, deploy and iterate AI solutions in live production environments
Set technical direction and defend architectural decisions to client engineering and security teams
Establish integrations, access and hosting with client IT
Prove value in production at small scale and productise and scale successful solutions
Build a pipeline of new use cases and help clients build their own capability
Bring on other engineers and raise delivery standards through review, pairing and mentoring
Challenge systems and processes through technical excellence and innovation
Track AI and technology trends

Requirements

What you’ll need

Excellent programming and system design skills
Recent hands-on experience in Python and ideally one of C#/.NET, Java, Rust or C++
Track record of taking AI or machine learning systems into production, including substantial experience with LLMs, prompt design, agentic workflows, evaluation harnesses and retrieval pipelines
Experience with APIs and integrations, SQL, cloud platforms (Azure or AWS), version control, CI/CD, security and access considerations
Proven ability to own a project from start to finish in an ambiguous setting
Experience working directly with clients or business stakeholders
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients and colleagues at every level, including non-technical business users
Entrepreneurial nature and ability to take ownership
Desire to understand and solve business problems, build domain knowledge and increase market understanding
Undergraduate degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering or a related field
Financial services experience is a bonus, but is not essential
