About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead Relationship Management and Claims Consulting & Advocacy within Client Support Services across North America
  • Drive strategic client relationship management and deepen engagement with key clients
  • Serve as senior client contact and escalation point for reinsurance accounting, claims, and post-placement service matters
  • Develop client-specific advice and solutions based on businesses, priorities, and reinsurance programs
  • Partner with Broking and CSS account teams to improve client experience, retention, and growth
  • Oversee significant client projects and service initiatives across functions and geographies
  • Lead client meetings, strategic account reviews, and service discussions
  • Use account analysis, reporting, benchmarking, data, and market intelligence to improve client outcomes
  • Lead claims consulting and advocacy practice and advise on complex, disputed, and strategically important reinsurance claims
  • Provide guidance on coverage interpretation, claims presentation, recovery strategy, market negotiation, and dispute resolution
  • Build relationships with reinsurers, claims executives, adjusters, legal counsel, and market participants
  • Lead claims consulting and advocacy during major catastrophe and systemic loss events
  • Coordinate catastrophe-response resources and client communications
  • Lead, coach, and develop Relationship Management and Claims Consulting & Advocacy teams
  • Establish performance expectations, governance, quality standards, performance measures, and operating procedures
  • Develop succession and talent plans and drive continuous improvement in service quality, efficiency, compliance, and client outcomes
  • Represent the organization at industry conferences, client events, and market forums

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in insurance, Risk Management, Business Administration, Finance, Law, or a related field
  • 20+ years of progressively responsible experience in reinsurance, insurance, claims consulting/advocacy, client relationship management, or reinsurance broking
  • Experience leading senior client-facing professionals and high-performing teams
  • Strong knowledge of reinsurance structures, treaty and facultative business, reinsurance accounting and claims processes, coverage interpretation, and claims resolution
  • Experience managing complex client relationships, significant service issues, and large, disputed, or catastrophe-related claims
  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior clients, carriers, brokers, and internal stakeholders
  • Exceptional relationship management, communication, negotiation, presentation, and consulting skills
  • Strong strategic judgment and analytical capabilities
  • Ability to operate effectively across functions and geographies
  • CPCU, ARe, ARM, RPLU, JD, or other relevant professional designation (standout qualification)
  • Experience with catastrophe, casualty, cyber, emerging risks, and specialty claims (standout qualification)
  • Experience representing an organization in industry associations, market committees, conferences, or client forums (standout qualification)
  • Experience using data and analytics for client advisory, benchmarking, and performance management (standout qualification)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, and relevant claims and analytics platforms (standout qualification)
  • Ability to work in the NYC or Philadelphia office three days per week
