About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Participate in and/or lead interviews with portfolio management teams and business leaders
  • Gather and analyze information to identify asset managers most likely to generate value for clients
  • Use AI and technology-enabled tools in research work
  • Meet client needs, including analytics and strategic research
  • Attend external conferences as appropriate to develop technical knowledge and career
  • Conduct quantitative analysis and maintain relevant data, charts, summary views, and detailed analysis supporting research ratings
  • Contribute to post-meeting discussions on key issues and recommended manager ratings
  • Provide ad hoc support to consultants preparing for internal and external research meetings
  • Assist with preparation for direct client discussions on managers and strategies
  • Contribute to Mercer's intellectual capital within fixed income
  • Contribute to revenue growth through direct research client projects and support of advisory and OCIO business
  • Collaborate with team members, asset managers, and investment consultants
  • Gather and collate data from varied sources to meet consultants' information needs
  • Prepare forward-looking research reports proposing fixed income strategies for Mercer's recommended list

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 3-5 years of applicable experience
  • BA/BS degree in finance, economics, or other business-related areas
  • Intellectual curiosity, tenacity and willingness to take on new opportunities
  • Willingness to learn
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Ability to synthesize and summarize complicated investment concepts into easy-to-read research reports
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task, manage multiple priorities and work in a rapidly changing environment
  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office
  • CFA or MBA, or interest in pursuing, is a plus
  • Background in asset manager due diligence or fixed income capital markets is a plus
