About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide lead compliance support for the Marsh Government Health Consulting team within the Health & Benefits practice
- Advise business leaders and colleagues on state governmental and regulatory matters
- Serve as the dedicated legal and compliance subject matter expert for Government Health Consulting
- Partner with Legal, Compliance and Public Affairs colleagues to deliver guidance
- Advise and make decisions in complex environments with competing priorities
- Determine when to escalate issues
- Educate and guide business teams on existing and emerging risk areas
- Work in a local office at least three days per week
- Collaborate with colleagues, clients and communities to create new solutions and impact
Requirements
What you’ll need- Juris Doctor (JD)
- Active bar membership; licensed attorney in good standing
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant legal experience supporting governmental and/or regulatory matters
- Experience in government contracting, procurement and bidding, conflict-of-interest identification and management, compliance, and data protection/privacy
- Strong background in state governmental and regulatory matters
- Knowledge of legal, regulatory and contractual frameworks for professional service organizations, including consultants and actuaries
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and/or a matrixed organization
- Ability to communicate and partner effectively with external stakeholders
- Strong commitment to ethical and compliant behavior
- Ability to manage complex projects and drive timely completion
- Clear and concise oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
