About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Independently lead consulting projects for clients, including diagnosis frameworks and methodologies addressing executive and non-executive reward needs
- Lead and develop the team delivering consulting work
- Advise, attend and engage directly with boards, remuneration committees and executive teams on pay and governance structures
- Contribute to business development with Markets & Growth and Solutions & Client Value activities in board and executive remuneration
- Develop and apply new methods, best practices, analytical techniques and improvements
- Strengthen Mercer’s intellectual capital and service delivery
- Build and maintain trusted client relationships
- Attend board and remuneration committee meetings where required and provide clear advice
- Coach colleagues, develop skills and contribute to a collaborative and inclusive team environment
- Shape the evolving role of judgment, governance and client relationships as data and AI handle more analytical groundwork
Requirements
What you’ll need- Advanced technical expertise in executive reward
- Ability to work across other areas of the Workforce Solutions portfolio when needed
- Experience advising boards or remuneration committees directly
- Experience presenting and discussing recommendations with senior stakeholders
- Experience in a consulting environment or a senior internal role
- Track record of delivering consulting solutions
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage complex and ongoing projects
- Advanced user of Excel
- Willingness to learn new systems and platforms as required
- Relevant undergraduate qualification (postgraduate and/or professional qualifications desirable)
- Client-centric mindset
- Experience contributing to business development activity
- Experience with VBA, R, Python, Tableau or Power BI is a differentiator
- Genuine interest in executive remuneration, industry developments and regulatory change
- Appropriate approval to work in Australia
- Successful applicants must complete a Criminal & Bankruptcy check prior to commencing employment
