Senior Employment Counsel – London
Marsh McLennan. Provide day-to-day advice and counselling to management, Human Resources, Employee Relations, and lawyers on labour and employment law and restrictive covenant matters .
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide day-to-day advice and counselling to management, Human Resources, Employee Relations, and lawyers on labour and employment law and restrictive covenant matters
- Manage employment, restrictive covenant, and benefits-related claims and litigation, including dispute resolution
- Manage outside counsel
- Advise management and Human Resources professionals on recruiting, hiring, employee relations, discipline, terminations, restructurings, redundancies, investigations, leave, compensation compliance, HR policies, contractors, mergers and acquisitions, transfers, and restrictive covenants
- Assist other employment lawyers on employment issues
- Coordinate training and special projects
- Lead or participate in employment-related compliance initiatives
- Potentially supervise other lawyers and/or support staff
- Support businesses in the UK, EU, and internationally
Requirements
What you’ll need- LLB or equivalent legal qualification
- Senior-level lawyer with 6+ years PQE
- Proven and extensive employment law experience, including employment litigation, with a major law firm or a global organisation
- Proven and extensive restrictive covenant litigation and advisory experience
- Significant, broad and general knowledge of all aspects of labour and employment law
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
- High level of analytical ability
- Significant problem-solving capability
- Flexibility and mature independent judgment
- UK employment and restrictive covenant litigation and advice expertise
- Experience advising on EU and cross-border employment issues
- Relevant experience with cross-border restrictive covenant matters is a plus
- Relevant experience with professional services firms is a plus
