About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Contribute to application development activities to implement new and improve existing web applications
Build and enhance reliable, scalable software solutions with guidance from senior engineers and architects
Translate requirements through an iterative development process into high-quality code
Write reusable, testable and efficient code following secure coding best practices
Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback
Work with product owners, stakeholders and other engineers to understand requirements, evaluate options and deliver pragmatic solutions
Contribute to software engineering best practices, knowledge sharing, tools, technology evolution and standards
Work closely with end-users and business staff to investigate and resolve system issues
Learn and apply technologies underlying current and future enterprise systems
Collaborate with product owners, security teams, architects and software engineers to build and enhance technical solutions
Contribute to rapid prototyping and evaluate new technologies and techniques
Help integrate open source technologies into platforms and systems

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, systems analysis or a related field of study, or equivalent training/experience
5+ years of software engineering experience, including internships, co-ops or equivalent hands-on development experience
Working knowledge of TypeScript and JavaScript for Node.js web applications
Experience with frameworks such as Express, Angular, or React
Experience with REST and/or GraphQL (Apollo) APIs
Fundamental understanding of modern system architecture patterns
Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
Knowledge of Agile software development practices, source control and continuous integration
Experience using AI-assisted development tools
Experience writing unit tests and exposure to integration and end-to-end automated testing
Basic understanding of DevOps concepts, CI/CD pipelines and tools
Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS
ETL tools or data integration patterns are a plus
Mobile application development experience is a plus
Experience with data flows between databases, APIs and applications is a plus
Cloud, AI or relevant open source technology certifications are a plus
