About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support quarterly financial reporting across US GAAP, Bermuda EBS/BSCR, and embedded value frameworks
- Analyze modeled results and produce reporting packages
- Monitor and refine analytics and reports
- Enhance, streamline, and automate reporting processes and analytical frameworks
- Support onboarding of new reinsurance treaties and products
- Design and implement controls and analytics frameworks
- Support annual actuarial assumption reviews through experience analysis, assumption assessment, and financial impact quantification
- Support annual planning and quarterly forecasting processes
- Serve as a key contact for external audit requests related to actuarial reporting
- Contribute to ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives across actuarial and finance functions
- Collaborate with Finance and Investments
- Perform other assigned tasks
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, business, or related field required
- Minimum of two years of actuarial experience required
- Familiarity with US GAAP (LDTI) and/or EBS/BSCR
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Ability to anticipate, problem-solve, take action, and adapt in a fast-paced, growing business
- High degree of attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with others in support of key initiatives
- ASA designations preferred
- Familiarity with R, Python, and/or comparable programming language preferred
- Familiarity with actuarial modeling software such as Prophet or MG-ALFA preferred
- Must reside in the Eastern/Central time zones, specified operating states, or within commuting distance of the Charlotte, North Carolina office for remote eligibility
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods and work on a computer
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
