About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work with stakeholders and end users to design, modify and implement system solutions for the Authority.
- Participate in analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support for MSBA Applications and other systems.
- Elicit, analyze and validate requirements for changes to business processes, policies and transaction processing systems.
- Capture requirements and changes through functional specification and configuration documentation.
- Act as liaison between IT and business users and serve as the primary tester of MSBA Application functionality.
- Analyze client business processes and requirements and develop corresponding processes and data flows.
- Document and provide recommendations for future business processes and drive continuous process improvements.
- Gather and understand business user requirements, create solutions, and evaluate outcomes.
- Develop end-to-end test cases at application and multi-application levels, including testing strategies, conditions, and expected results.
- Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing as the IT point person.
- Document action items, status reports, and post-project evaluations.
- Gather and analyze data; create BI reports and visualizations as needed.
- Create and maintain user, technical, and operational documentation.
- Conduct user training as needed.
- Handle internal and external user access requests and resolve application access issues.
- Resolve business users’ questions and problems, escalating issues as appropriate.
- Participate on assigned MSBA project teams and procurements requiring technical representation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree with a major in computer science or other related discipline.
- Five or more years of experience in business analysis, software implementation and/or software quality assurance.
- Ability to work hybrid work schedule - minimum of two (2) in-office days per week
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365 and web technologies.
- Direct experience with the various stages of the SDLC.
- Ability to achieve successful results working closely with end business users and developers in both agile and waterfall development environments.
- Ability to drive team projects to completion without jeopardizing quality.
- Ability to interpret, analyze, and write complex business systems and documents clearly and concisely.
- Experience with business process improvement.
- Experience with flow charts and screen mock ups using MS Visio and/or other software.
- Experience writing and executing test cases/plans and user stories.
- Strong experience with User Acceptance Testing.
- Ability to effectively present information to end users, the development team and the Director of IT.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualizations.
- Strong Project Management skills.
- Familiarity with data analytics and visualizations including using tools such as Tableau and/or Power BI.
- A task driven mindset as well as effective multitasking and follow up skills.
- Professional interpersonal style; ability to work and build trust with a diverse range of people.
- Ability to work with tight deadlines.
- Ability and willingness to proactively research and/or solve issues.
