About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Represent the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in investigations and litigation before state and federal courts
  • Handle a substantial number of matters involving enforcement of state and federal antitrust laws
  • Investigate and challenge anticompetitive mergers, price-fixing agreements, and other illegal practices
  • Handle cases across a broad range of industries involving complex and cutting-edge legal and economic issues
  • Work with other attorneys, including attorneys from other states and the United States Department of Justice and Federal Trade Commission
  • Participate in policy development, including drafting or reviewing proposed legislation

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be a member of the Massachusetts bar or be eligible for admission in short order
  • Litigation and/or other relevant legal experience, preferably three years or more of complex civil litigation experience
  • Previous experience in antitrust or competition law is desired, but not required
  • Experience with quantitative and/or economic analyses or experience working on matters involving such analyses, preferred
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex legal, business, financial, and economic concepts
  • Excellent oral and written advocacy skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to exercise sound judgment and decision making
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to demonstrate a connection to the people and communities served
  • Interest in supporting a respectful, diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment
  • Cover letter, writing sample, and resume required for application
