About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Mediate complaints involving health care providers, insurance companies, and other health care entities
  • Help manage the activities of the Mediation Unit
  • Assist mediators and manage mediation workflows
  • Respond to constituent inquiries
  • Assist the Division Chief in performance planning for the Mediation Unit
  • Work with the Division Chief and Deputy Chief on Mediation Unit operations
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, training materials, and templates
  • Report on consumer complaint data
  • Work with other AGO Divisions and government agencies
  • Participate in community engagement

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least seven (7) years of health law, consumer law, mediation, community engagement, consumer complaint handling, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Previous experience in health care is desired but not required
  • Excellent writing, analysis, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to manage workflows, and structure, analyze, and report out data
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex legal, business, and financial concepts
  • Ability to collaborate and represent the Office with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage and work with a team
  • Demonstrated commitment to the public interest
  • Connection to the people and communities served
  • Interest in supporting a respectful and inclusive work environment
