About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop tactical, operational, and strategic intelligence information supporting ongoing investigations and counter-drug operations
  • Research drug cultivation and production, transportation methods, trafficking routes, and trafficking organization structures
  • Analyze telephone-related data, calls, emails, text messages, and other communications to quantify criminal plotting and conspiracy activities
  • Coordinate and conduct the Fentanyl Strike Force’s analysis of aggregate datasets
  • Construct analytical methodologies and determine causes, patterns, and opportunities to improve public safety outcomes
  • Cultivate investigative leads and direction for deeper investigations into criminal activity
  • Compile partner enforcement reports using data collection and mapping software
  • Create reports and recommendations for crime prevention and response techniques
  • Solicit participation in contributing information to intelligence databases
  • Meet with law enforcement officials to identify data gaps, collect raw data, and evaluate investigative progress
  • Coordinate multi-agency collaboration, project management, meeting logistics, interagency communications, and data presentations
  • Collaborate with law enforcement officials and Assistant Attorneys General to support case progress
  • Prepare, summarize, and present investigative findings
  • Communicate and coordinate with other law enforcement agencies on deconfliction matters
  • Perform additional duties supporting unit objectives and needs

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or related demonstrated experience working as an Intelligence Analyst in the law enforcement, military, or intelligence communities
  • Basic understanding of and interest in drug law enforcement
  • Experience conducting complex research into drug cultivation and production, transportation methods, trafficking routes, and trafficking organizations
  • Experience analyzing telephone-related data, subscriber and call detail/toll records, phone calls, email activity, and text messages
  • Experience analyzing aggregate datasets and developing methodologies
  • Experience using data collection and mapping software
  • Experience conducting preliminary vetting of incoming tips and intelligence
  • Experience with intelligence databases
  • Experience coordinating multi-agency collaboration and project management
  • Solid command of MS Word and PowerPoint
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with statistical software
  • Expertise formatting and designing reports, link charts, graphs, and tables
  • Experience synthesizing and interpreting data and preparing and presenting reports, research, and writing
  • Ability to independently manage workload
  • Ability to work effectively with federal, state, and local law enforcement and intelligence professionals
  • Familiarity with social media data exploitation and comfort with open-source research
  • Strong organizational, program planning, and communication skills
  • Ability to support a respectful and inclusive work environment
  • Advanced degree in data analysis and prior management experience preferred
