About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide day-to-day investigative support to White Collar & Public Integrity Division employees
- Evaluate referrals for potential investigation and prosecution
- Conduct interviews of complainants, victims, witnesses, and targets
- Develop and implement investigative plans with the prosecution team
- Gather facts using databases, open-source information, and other investigative techniques
- Identify, obtain, and analyze documentary evidence from individuals, financial institutions, corporate entities, trusts, digital devices, social media, and government agencies
- Organize information and create charts, graphs, chronologies, and visual aids for the prosecution team and jurors
- Conduct financial background checks to identify financial assets
- Produce investigative reports, memoranda, and court-filed affidavits
- Testify in court and grand jury proceedings
- Assist with drafting and serving subpoenas and preservation orders
- Perform field visits to businesses, communities, and other locations
- Coordinate with attorneys, investigators, victim witness advocates, law enforcement officers, referral agencies, and prosecutorial organizations
- Perform additional duties as necessary
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of investigatory experience, preferably conducting and/or overseeing complex criminal and civil investigations
- Prior experience with public corruption and financial crimes preferred
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Experience conducting interviews and writing reports, and synthesizing and interpreting data
- Ability to interact with staff at all levels in a fast-paced environment with professionalism and confidentiality
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, online databases, and social media sites
- Ability to learn other software applications as needed
- Excellent organizational, analytical, written communication, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and manage several objectives concurrently
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license required
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed to other areas of the Commonwealth and attend court proceedings
