About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the primary point of contact supporting customers
- Maintain customer relationships and customer satisfaction
- Execute contracts operationally while ensuring account safety and quality
- Drive INTREN’s core values and mission
- Collaborate with the Executive Vice President on business development and business strategies for assigned customers
- Follow up during and after jobs/contracts to obtain performance feedback and identify improvement areas
- Understand customer organizational structures and key management
- Develop relationship plans and assign personnel to maintain customer relationships
- Manage and execute contracts
- Establish, manage and track departmental operating budgets and P&L
- Review financial and dashboard reports for customer contract performance
- Monitor Project Manager assumed contract costs against actual field costs
- Manage overhead costs for assigned accounts
- Ensure customer and INTREN KPIs meet INTREN standards
- Review and approve customer estimates
- Ensure contracts are assigned Project Managers
- Review Project Manager plans and status reports
- Ensure work order setup, weekly data entry, change orders and close-outs are handled accurately
- Ensure accurate and timely invoicing
- Perform internal Project Management Audits
- Ensure subcontractors meet INTREN standards and requirements
- Ensure INTREN processes, procedures, field procedures and safety policies are followed
- Oversee equipment utilization, incident reporting, requests and rentals
- Drive safety improvements and coordinate required staff training
- Assist the Superintendent with improvement plans
- Develop customer account plans and business development strategies
- Establish annual sales and profit targets
- Set performance and development goals for direct reports
- Conduct formal performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback
- Coach and mentor employees
- Maintain account succession plans with Human Resources
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in project management or direct supervisory role
- Five (5) years of management/supervisory experience or demonstrated proficiency and experience managing large complex projects using project management techniques
- Experience with planning and control
- Experience with product/work breakdown structures
- Experience with critical path analysis
- Experience with issue and risk management, including identification, assessment and management of project risks and contingency plans
- Experience with project management tools and methods for planning, scheduling, resource balancing and monitoring cost
- Experience with business case development and cost/benefit evaluations
- Experience with progress reporting, cost/schedule curves, project status reports and earned value analysis
- Proven leadership ability in a high-performance culture
- Demonstrated ability to build consensus, communicate effectively, engage others in required processes and hold people accountable
- Advanced technical degree/MBA or Project Management Certificate (PMP), PE preferred
