About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, test, deploy, and support enterprise applications using Workday Extend
Manage Extend application architecture, data models, pages, business process integration, and security configuration
Take Extend applications through the full application lifecycle, including documentation and ongoing support
Support and maintain existing Extend applications and resolve issues and enhancement requests
Optimize applications for performance, usability, and maintainability
Create reusable components, shared services, and delivery patterns
Evaluate new Workday Extend capabilities and prototype ideas
Develop and support integrations using Studio, Orchestrate, Core Connectors, EIBs, REST and SOAP APIs, and Workday Web Services
Apply secure, observable, and maintainable integration patterns
Modernize integrations through automation, AI-assisted development, and reusable components
Partner with Product Owners, Security, Engineering, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
Participate in Agile ceremonies, architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews
Balance feature delivery, application optimization, technical debt reduction, and operational support
Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive lasting fixes
Mentor junior engineers and contractors
Identify workflow bottlenecks and automate Workday processes and integrations
Help establish CI/CD, monitoring, and standardized engineering practices

Requirements

What you’ll need

Hands-on experience building, supporting, and optimizing applications with Workday Extend, including application architecture, data models, pages, security, and the full application lifecycle
Hands-on experience developing enterprise applications on the Workday platform
Solid experience with Workday integrations, including Studio, Orchestrate, Core Connectors, EIBs, APIs, and Workday Web Services
Proficiency with REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, XSLT, and common enterprise integration patterns
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Clear communication with technical and non-technical audiences
Experience in Agile delivery environments, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, estimation, and iterative delivery
Ability to manage competing priorities across project work and operational support
Interest in mentoring teammates
Workday Extend and Workday Integration certifications are strongly preferred
Experience with CI/CD, automation, monitoring, and AI-assisted development is nice to have
Experience improving business processes or integration workflows through automation is nice to have
Must abide by Mastercard security policies and practices
Must ensure confidentiality and integrity of accessed information
Must report suspected security violations or breaches
Must complete periodic mandatory security trainings
