About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Prospect, qualify, and educate inbound and outbound leads across the Japan market
  • Generate meetings and pipeline through multi-channel outreach in Japanese
  • Research accounts, personas, and industries aligned with MasterControl's target customers
  • Uncover operational and business process challenges facing Japanese organizations
  • Communicate MasterControl's value to diverse audiences in Japanese and English
  • Partner with Account Executives on territory and prospecting strategies
  • Qualify opportunities and provide documented handoffs to Regional Account Executives and internal stakeholders
  • Maintain activity, discovery, and pipeline data in Salesforce
  • Meet or exceed activity and opportunity creation goals
  • Share Japan market insights and best practices
  • Build product, industry, and competitive knowledge in regulated markets
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams, a U.S.-based manager, and global cross-functional teammates

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Business-level fluency in Japanese, required to prospect, qualify, and hold consultative conversations with Japanese business audiences
  • Professional proficiency in English, required for interviews, manager 1:1s, team meetings, and internal systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Japanese and English
  • Demonstrated curiosity and comfort experimenting with AI tools or workflows
  • Solid time management, prioritization, and execution skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a manager and teammates outside Japan
  • Attention to detail and commitment to CRM accuracy
  • Comfort engaging business and technical stakeholders
  • Candidates must reside in and be legally authorized to work in Japan without company sponsorship
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (preferred)
  • Experience in an SDR/BDR or customer-facing role (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Salesloft, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator (preferred)
  • Experience with multi-channel outreach (preferred)
  • Exposure to supporting Account Executives in SMB and/or Mid-Market sales (preferred)
  • History of achieving activity or pipeline goals (preferred)
  • Experience working remotely or on a distributed team (preferred)
