About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Further develop and maintain the test automation framework
  • Bring additional experience, ideas and engineering perspective to the framework
  • Work closely with the current framework owner to drive the framework forward
  • Perform test automation and framework development
  • Conduct API and integration testing
  • Apply testing across Unit/Integration, Endpoint/API, Frontend and E2E levels
  • Work with complex systems, configurations, test environments and test data
  • Troubleshoot and debug test issues
  • Explore AI-assisted development for test automation, maintenance, failure analysis and testing workflows
  • Identify problems, propose improvements and follow them through
  • Collaborate with the framework owner, developers and other engineers
  • Contribute to Materialise Medical’s personalized healthcare, 3D planning and 3D printing software

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong experience in test automation and automation framework development
  • Strong C# / .NET skills
  • Hands-on experience with Playwright or similar modern browser automation frameworks
  • Good experience with API and integration testing
  • Good understanding of test architecture and testing levels: Unit/Integration, Endpoint/API, Frontend and E2E
  • Experience with Azure DevOps
  • Experience with BDD and data-driven testing
  • Ability to work with complex systems, configurations, test environments and test data
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
  • Practical experience with AI-assisted development and interest in AI applications for test automation, maintenance, failure analysis and testing workflows
  • Strong ownership, initiative, curiosity and willingness to challenge existing approaches constructively
  • Ability to work on technically challenging and ambiguous problems
  • Good collaboration skills
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mathematics, IT, Physics, or related fields (IT preferred)
  • At least 4 years of experience in QA, including 2+ years in test automation
  • At least 2 years of experience testing web or desktop applications
  • Programming skills in any object-oriented language and willingness to switch to C#
  • Knowledge of testing principles and test automation framework design
  • Familiarity with Playwright or Cypress for C# UI automation (optional)
  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript (optional)
  • Strong problem-solving and bug-identification skills
  • Results-oriented mindset with attention to detail
  • Clear, structured communication skills
  • Team player with system thinking and Agile/Scrum mindset
  • English at Upper-intermediate level or higher
