About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, enhance, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines using Microsoft SSIS
Develop and maintain T-SQL code, including stored procedures, functions, views, and complex queries
Optimize SQL query performance through execution plan analysis, indexing strategies, and query tuning
Implement error handling, logging, transaction management, and data validation
Apply secure SQL development practices, including parameterized dynamic SQL, least-privilege access, and role-based security controls
Apply Medallion Architecture principles across Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers
Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and data engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Follow Git-based development practices, peer code reviews, automated testing, and database CI/CD processes
Leverage AI-powered coding assistants for development productivity, testing, documentation, and code optimization, with review and validation
Monitor SLAs/SLOs, troubleshoot ETL and database issues, resolve incidents, and conduct root-cause analysis
Identify opportunities to improve ETL performance, data quality, maintainability, and operational efficiency

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SSIS and SQL Server
Proficiency in T-SQL development, including stored procedures, functions, views, and complex queries
Demonstrated experience in SQL performance tuning, execution plan analysis, and indexing
Experience developing, deploying, and supporting enterprise-scale ETL pipelines
Understanding of data modeling, data validation, data integrity, and database security best practices
Familiarity with version control, code review processes, automated testing, and database deployment practices
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams and business stakeholders
Preferred: Experience with Talend Data Integration
Preferred: Familiarity with GitHub Copilot or other AI-assisted development tools
Preferred: Experience implementing automated testing and database CI/CD pipelines
Preferred: Knowledge of Medallion Architecture and modern data engineering practices
Preferred: Experience in banking, financial services, or other data-intensive enterprise environments
