About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, test, and maintain high-performance Java-based applications and RESTful APIs
Build and deploy scalable cloud-native solutions using Microsoft Azure services
Develop and manage containerized applications using Docker and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
Integrate applications with messaging platforms such as Apache Kafka and MQ
Develop and support data integration solutions leveraging Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS)
Collaborate with architects, developers, DevOps engineers, and cross-functional teams
Troubleshoot and resolve application, integration, and cloud infrastructure issues
Ensure code quality, security, scalability, performance, and maintainability
Participate in technical design reviews, architecture discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior team members when applicable

Requirements

What you’ll need

3+ years of hands-on Java development experience
Strong experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices
Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and software design patterns
Proven experience developing, deploying, and supporting applications within Azure environments
Hands-on experience with Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS)
Hands-on experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
Experience with Azure cloud infrastructure and services
Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized application development
Experience deploying and managing workloads in Kubernetes environments
Experience working with event-driven architectures
Strong knowledge of Apache Kafka
Strong knowledge of IBM MQ or similar message queuing platforms
Experience with Azure Databricks or similar big data platforms
Hands-on experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot
Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices
Experience working within Agile/Scrum development methodologies
Prior experience leading technical initiatives or mentoring engineers
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
