About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build and maintain linters, static checks, and schema-driven records that automatically check engineering rules on every change
- Turn CI, regression, and verification results into dashboards and reports showing each block’s progress toward signoff
- Build tooling to keep exceptions and waivers owned, justified, and current across tools and teams
- Develop and test shared verification libraries and flows for RTL, verification, and physical design teams
- Apply methodology review and evidence rules to AI-generated work
- Collaborate with the AI tooling team on enforcement checks
- Review escaped bugs and false alarms
- Measure the cost of process steps and improve checks while reducing unnecessary steps
- Build and run automation for a unified engineering methodology covering chip specification, design, verification, and signoff
Requirements
What you’ll need- Production Python experience
- Comfortable with a second language such as Rust
- Experience building tools used by other engineers
- Experience with GitHub Actions or a similar CI system
- Experience with Bazel or another build system used in a large repository
- Experience working on or alongside a silicon team through at least one tapeout, as a design, DV, CAD, or methodology engineer
- Understanding of lint, clock domain crossing checks, coverage, waivers, and ECOs in signoff
- Ability to distinguish useful process rules from rules that only slow people down
- Clear technical writing ability
- Willingness to travel a few times per year
- Preferred: experience with formal verification, SystemVerilog Assertions, or DV methodology
- Preferred: experience with commercial lint, clock domain crossing, or formal tools and their report formats
- Preferred: experience with traceable evidence processes such as DO-254 or ISO 26262
- Preferred: experience building dashboards or data pipelines from CI and regression results
- Preferred: experience building tools for or with AI coding agents
- Preferred: familiarity with Bluespec or another high-level hardware description language
- Capacity to perform job functions in compliance with U.S. export control laws without obtaining a license from U.S. export control authorities
