About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead planning, execution, and delivery of complex cybersecurity, cloud security, and information assurance programs for federal government environments
  • Provide strategic and technical leadership across cybersecurity architecture, security engineering, cloud security, systems engineering, development, and implementation
  • Translate customer mission, business, and cybersecurity requirements into technical objectives
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams responsible for IT and cloud design, security architecture, engineering, development, implementation, and ongoing security operations
  • Provide guidance on cybersecurity solutions and security architecture in federal and/or commercial environments
  • Lead and support federal A&A and ATO activities throughout the system lifecycle
  • Oversee cybersecurity architecture, engineering, and authorization activities under RMF and FedRAMP requirements
  • Ensure alignment with federal cybersecurity policies, processes, standards, and security requirements
  • Partner with government stakeholders, system owners, technical teams, and security personnel to identify requirements, address risks, and support mission objectives
  • Manage schedules, resources, priorities, risks, dependencies, and deliverables
  • Provide executive-level program reporting, status updates, risk assessments, and recommendations
  • Identify opportunities to improve cybersecurity processes, program performance, security posture, and operational effectiveness

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum of 10 years of Information Security experience, including at least 5 years of Cybersecurity and Cloud Security experience supporting a large government agency
  • Expertise in program/project management, security architecture, and security engineering
  • Experience translating customer requirements into technical objectives and communicating requirements to multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience managing IT and cloud design, cybersecurity, development, systems engineering, and implementation efforts
  • Expertise implementing and managing security solutions within federal and/or commercial environments
  • Extensive experience with federal Assessment and Authorization (A&A) and Authority to Operate (ATO) processes
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity architecture, engineering, and authorization requirements, including FedRAMP and RMF
  • Understanding of applicable federal cybersecurity policies, processes, standards, and frameworks
  • Ability to lead complex technical programs and collaborate with government clients, senior leadership, technical teams, and stakeholders
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a High-Risk Public Trust clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration - Business Management, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Assurance, Information Security, Information Resource Management, or a related field
  • Certification in one or more of: PMP, IAT Level III, IAM Level III, or IASAE Level III
  • IAT III, IAM III, or IASAE III certification may substitute for the relevant bachelor’s degree, or four years of relevant experience may substitute as permitted by position requirements
  • Preferred: experience leading cybersecurity programs for large federal agencies
  • Preferred: experience managing cloud security initiatives within complex federal environments
  • Preferred: knowledge of federal cybersecurity governance, risk management, compliance, and authorization processes
  • Preferred: experience serving as a trusted advisor to federal clients and senior government stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
