About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage multiple capital projects of significant value from evaluation through implementation
Focus on facility-related projects and support facility maintenance, including air compressors, HVAC, building and grounds, electricians, and plumbing
Work with manufacturing and maintenance partners on the design, development, purchase, installation, commissioning, start-up, operation, maintenance and improvement of site facilities, support systems and packaging equipment
Provide technical support and monitor improvement results until they are sustained for at least 90 days
Lead and participate in facilities-focused improvement activities, SMED, packaging systems analysis, spare parts processes and systems optimization
Participate in daily management and plant-wide communication meetings
Prepare final CAAPs, plan projects, secure funding and approvals, monitor capital project implementation, perform post-installation audits, reconcile financial metrics and share key learnings
Coordinate selection, design and layout of facility equipment to ensure efficiency, reliability, space utilization and production capacity
Initiate facility design changes and modifications to optimize operations
Support packaging design changes, cost reductions and expansion of existing equipment capabilities
Ensure projects deliver vertical start-ups
Provide technical leadership to cross-functional project teams
Coach and mentor team members on technical competencies
Support focused improvement activities and drive technology upgrades and innovative breakthroughs
Manage environmental reporting and improvement activities
Liaise with governmental and regulatory agencies and lead facility compliance projects when required

Requirements

What you’ll need

BS in Engineering (Mechanical/Chemical preferred)
Minimum of 5 years of technical experience in a multi-disciplinary environment
Experience driving improvement in facilities, process, supply chain, packaging, control systems and plant utilities
Experience in GMP food manufacturing
Experience with packaging machinery
Proven success delivering multiple/simultaneous projects
Experience managing significant cash flow
