About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Counsel and educate new and existing patients on specialty drug therapies
- Provide patient care and counseling for patients enrolled in the Medication Therapy Program
- Report adverse events and provide clinical interventions based on assessed patient need
- Adhere to contracted and accrediting regulations indicated by drug specification
- Complete thorough and accurate documentation in compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Discuss potential and current side effects, educate patients about treatment alternatives, and facilitate therapy adherence
- Identify and report adverse events and product complaints to manufacturers, the FDA, and other governing authorities
- Verify specialty drugs and provide education as a provider/patient conduit
- Support patient management programs through call cadence schedules, medication management programming, drug counseling, and provider collaboration
- Maintain patient demographic records, medical history, and other records in accordance with HIPAA standards
- Collaborate with Pharmacy Support teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of specialty drugs
Requirements
What you’ll need- Registered Nurse credentials
- Degree or equivalent and typically 4+ years of relevant experience, or a combination of education and experience
- Active RN license in NC/TX
- Associate, Bachelor or higher degree in Nursing or accredited nursing diploma
- 4+ years of nursing experience with at least 1 year of acute experience
- Experience in Oncology or other specialties
- Current unrestricted compact state license or primary NC licensure
- TX RN license required for residents of TX
- Ability to obtain licensing in all states and United States territories serviced within 3 months of employment through Biologics supported programming
- Computer skills, including e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet and web-based programs
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Experience with motivational interviewing preferably
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret practice standards, professional journals, technical procedures, and government standards and regulations
- Must reside within a commutable distance of Cary, NC or Fort Worth, TX
- Must work designated shifts and one rotating Saturday
- Nurses are required to report to the office twice a week
