About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities
  • Oversee general ledger accounting activities across SCRI lines of business
  • Partner with Technical Accounting, Revenue Cycle, and operational leadership on complex accounting transactions, contract modifications, revenue recognition matters, and new business arrangements
  • Ensure timely preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Provide leadership and oversight of accounts payable operations
  • Maintain an effective financial control environment
  • Support financial system implementations, upgrades, interfaces, and integrations
  • Lead automation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives across Accounting
  • Partner with Revenue Cycle, FP&A, Information Technology, and Finance leadership to improve workflows and data quality
  • Recruit, develop, coach, and retain a high-performing accounting team
  • Prepare materials, analyses, and presentations for executive leadership, audit activities, financial statement reviews, and governance reporting

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required
  • Eight or more years of progressive accounting experience
  • Five or more years of people leadership experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading month-end close, financial reporting, accounting operations, and internal controls
  • Healthcare, clinical research, life sciences, or multi-entity accounting experience preferred
  • Experience supporting acquisitions, purchase accounting, post-close integration, or similar transaction accounting activities preferred
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting requirements, and accounting policy application
  • Thorough understanding of internal controls, accounting governance, and audit support
  • Experience with ERP systems, financial reporting tools, system integrations, and process automation
