About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide technical leadership for one or more software engineering teams through the full development lifecycle
- Define and refine design requirements with stakeholders
- Architect scalable solutions and ensure interoperability across services
- Solve complex engineering challenges through diagnostic analysis, operational insight, and product alignment
- Code solutions independently
- Serve as technical lead across applications and functional areas
- Participate in technical design and code reviews
- Develop and review User Stories
- Write and execute unit and integration tests
- Remediate defects and improve surrounding code
- Mentor peers through code reviews, debugging, and refactoring
- Establish standards and best practices for consistency, scalability, and reliability
- Identify and resolve severe security vulnerabilities
- Contribute to secure-coding and security-by-design strategies
- Ensure compliance in regulated SOC1/SOC2 and PHI environments
- Drive process and productivity improvements with Product, QA, SREs, Architects, and Project Management
- Embed AI across the SDLC, including design, code, test, release, and operate
- Provide technical guidance and coaching
- Participate in senior-leadership discussions
- Present complex topics to business leaders and customers in Sprint Reviews
- Learn and apply the retail pharmacy and clinical services domain
- Support microservices related to Central Fill Management and Drug Utilization Reviews
- Remediate security vulnerabilities for the EnterpriseRx platform
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree or equivalent and typically 7+ years of relevant experience
- Alternatively, a Master’s plus 4+ years of relevant experience
- 7+ years of relevant software-engineering experience, or Master’s plus 4+ years
- Object-oriented software engineering and RESTful services
- Strong proficiency in Java (17/21+), Spring Boot, and Gradle
- Experience with event-driven systems such as Kafka
- Microservices design and modular architecture with API-first design and integration
- Experience with OpenAPI, API gateway, and OAuth2
- Relational databases and SQL, such as Oracle
- Familiarity with Snowflake is a plus
- Performance monitoring and observability, including logs, metrics, traces, and SLOs
- SDLC and Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe
- Version-control systems and collaborative workflows
- Candidate must reside in Irving, TX; Moon Township, PA; Alpharetta, GA; or Columbus, OH
- Candidates within a 50-mile radius of Irving, TX must work onsite 2 days per week
- Up to 5% nationwide travel, averaging 2–3 times per year
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States full-time without employer support or sponsorship now or in the future
