About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, test, and deploy full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, Angular, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL
Build and maintain REST APIs and microservices using modern architecture principles and OpenAPI/Swagger standards
Leverage approved AI development tools, including GitHub Copilot and Claude, to improve engineering productivity, code quality, testing coverage, and efficiency
Evaluate AI-generated code for security, performance, scalability, maintainability, and functional accuracy
Develop user interfaces and administrative tools supporting business workflows and operational efficiency
Create scalable, event-driven solutions using Kafka and distributed messaging platforms
Architect and optimize the core AI agent orchestration layer and runtime harness for complex, multi-step task execution and model routing
Ensure end-to-end quality across user interfaces, APIs, databases, integrations, and event-driven services
Implement automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and continuous delivery best practices
Utilize observability and monitoring tools to improve application reliability and production support
Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical design discussions
Mentor engineers through knowledge sharing, design collaboration, and engineering best practices
Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions in an Agile environment

Requirements

What you’ll need

Degree or equivalent experience and typically requires 7+ years of relevant software engineering experience
7+ years of software development experience
Hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful API development
Experience leveraging AI-assisted software development tools and workflows
Experience developing web applications using Angular, React, Vue, Next.js, or similar JavaScript frameworks
Robust experience designing low-latency agent execution loops that natively manage multi-step tool execution
Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases, including PostgreSQL
Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging technologies such as Kafka
Experience with source control, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software delivery practices
Experience developing and executing automated tests
Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and production support skills
Experience with Azure cloud services and cloud-native application development
Experience with Docker and containerized deployments
Experience using ORM technologies such as Hibernate or JPA
Familiarity with Redis or other caching technologies
Experience with feature management tools such as LaunchDarkly or Optimizely
Experience with database migration tools such as Liquibase or Flyway
Experience with observability and monitoring tools, including Dynatrace
Experience with distributed tracing, metrics, and structured logging
Previous experience in healthcare, pharmacy, or highly regulated industries
