About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and develop managers and analysts responsible for transportation operations, logistics programs, analytics, and supplier transportation initiatives
- Develop and execute domestic transportation and inbound logistics strategies
- Improve service performance, cost efficiency, inventory flow, and operational effectiveness
- Manage carrier, supplier, and logistics partner relationships
- Drive freight management, network improvements, supplier conversion programs, and cost-saving initiatives
- Oversee inbound scheduling, routing, receiving coordination, dock utilization, and transportation planning
- Establish and monitor transportation KPIs
- Lead freight audit, payment, recovery, and financial control processes
- Analyze transportation, operational, and financial data to identify trends, mitigate risks, and develop recommendations
- Partner with technology teams on transportation systems, automation, process improvements, and digital transformation
- Lead cross-functional logistics, transportation technology, and operational change-management projects
- Communicate performance, recommendations, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Analytics, Operations Management, or a related field, OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- 8+ years of progressive experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, or related operations
- 3+ years of people leadership experience managing professional teams
- Experience leading transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations
- Experience managing carrier, supplier, or third-party logistics relationships
- Experience with transportation performance metrics, logistics analytics, and operational reporting
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and process improvement efforts
- Experience with transportation management systems (TMS), freight management, or logistics technology platforms
- Strong financial, analytical, and business planning capabilities
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and influence stakeholders across multiple functions
