About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support, configure, and maintain technology used in distribution centers, including RF devices, scanners, scales, printers, Windows workstations, and Windows server environments
- Troubleshoot and resolve escalated hardware, software, device, and infrastructure issues to reduce operational disruption
- Monitor system health, performance, and capacity to support reliable technology operations
- Partner with application, infrastructure, operations, and support teams to resolve complex business and technical issues
- Develop, maintain, and follow technical standards, support procedures, and documentation for audit readiness and operational consistency
- Support security, compliance, access controls, backup, recovery, and change management practices
- Identify opportunities to improve service, reduce recurring issues, and strengthen distribution center technology support
- Mentor team members and share technical knowledge, troubleshooting practices, and support standards
- Support business-critical supply chain and distribution operations
- Support distribution centers, project implementations, hardware deployments, operational readiness activities, and technology upgrades through travel as needed
- Participate in on-call rotations, maintenance windows, and after-hours support to maintain operational continuity and respond to critical incidents
- Work with Warehouse Control Systems, warehouse automation, industrial scanning systems, RF/mobile devices, printers, sortation systems, and other operational technologies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Typically requires 7+ years of experience in systems administration, infrastructure support, distribution center technology, IT operations, or a related technical role
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience supporting Windows servers, workstations, printers, peripherals, and network-connected devices
- Hands-on experience supporting WCS, warehouse automation, RF and mobile devices, barcode scanners, scales, printers, and sortation technologies
- Experience troubleshooting complex issues across hardware, software, networks, business applications, and integrated automation environments
- Knowledge of incident management, root cause analysis, change management, security, and compliance practices
- Experience creating technical documentation, support procedures, SOPs, or operational standards
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with experience working with business partners, technical teams, vendors, and distribution center Operations
- Ability to drive continuous improvement, share technical knowledge, and mentor team members
- Experience supporting industrial scanning technologies, including SICK scanning solutions, Package Analytics, and Zebra mobile and scanning devices
- Familiarity with device management, imaging, patching, monitoring, IT service management, and remote support tools
- Knowledge of backup, recovery, disaster recovery, access management, and infrastructure security
- Experience with performance monitoring, capacity planning, recurring-issue reduction, and operational reliability improvements
- Experience supporting supply chain technology in a regulated distribution center environment
- Up to 25% travel may be required
- Participation in on-call rotations, maintenance windows, and after-hours support may be required
- Ability to safely work around warehouse equipment, conveyor systems, automation technologies, and related operational infrastructure
- Ability to occasionally lift, move, install, or troubleshoot technology equipment and work at a computer for extended periods
- Ability to access equipment located in offices, computer rooms, distribution centers, and warehouse environments as needed
