About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines on Databricks using PySpark and Python, following a Bronze/Silver/Gold lakehouse pattern
  • Onboard customer healthcare data by ingesting, parsing, and transforming 837 claims, 835 remittance, and EMR data
  • Map customer data accurately to the MDaudit data model
  • Support conversion and migration of data from legacy systems such as Microsoft SQL Server
  • Develop automation and reusable tools in Python, PySpark, and SQL to streamline ETL and reduce manual onboarding effort
  • Apply automated data validation, quality checks, and reconciliation, and resolve discrepancies
  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot customer data feeds and file processing after setup
  • Collaborate with Implementation, Product, Support, and IT teams on requirements and data mapping
  • Troubleshoot onboarding issues, perform root-cause analysis, and escalate complex issues to senior engineers
  • Keep assigned onboarding work items on track in project management tools such as Monday.com and provide regular status updates
  • Document pipelines, data flows, and runbooks to support handoff to Support
  • Adhere to HIPAA and other regulatory requirements and maintain data integrity and security
  • Support onboarding and conversion of customer healthcare data for MDaudit’s revenue cycle and compliance platform

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Health Informatics, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in data engineering, ETL/ELT, and data warehousing
  • 2+ years of programming experience with Python and SQL
  • 1+ year of hands-on experience with Databricks and PySpark
  • Working knowledge of Snowflake and SQL transformations
  • 1+ year of experience in the healthcare industry, preferably in revenue cycle management (RCM)
  • Understanding of healthcare billing processes and the claims lifecycle
  • Working knowledge of healthcare EDI (X12) transaction data and its use in claims and remittance processing
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS or Microsoft Azure)
  • Strong understanding of healthcare revenue cycle processes and experience with SaaS applications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical colleagues
  • Collaborative, team-oriented working style
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment
