About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop, review, and seal electrical engineering drawings, plans, and specifications in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements
  • Become proficient in the company's DCLM processes, technology, and engineering standards
  • Support data center electrical design and load management, including strategic load planning based on customer loads and site-specific requirements
  • Manage multiple projects with relatively short turnaround times
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive engineering and load-planning processes using CAD/BIM integration, AI technology, custom software, and advanced Excel worksheets and macros
  • Collaborate with internal engineering, commissioning, project, and technology teams to implement site-specific load management solutions
  • Improve and standardize engineering processes as data center programs grow
  • Provide technical expertise and professional engineering oversight
  • Run customer-facing meetings to discuss projects and technical requirements

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4+ years of Professional Electrical Engineering design experience in the construction industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering, with the ability to seal applicable electrical engineering documents
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, electrical distribution systems, and design documentation
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, calculations, datasets, and engineering models
  • Familiarity with data center design and/or mission-critical electrical environments
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to engineering quality and accuracy
  • Demonstrated interest in technology, process improvement, and engineering innovation
  • Ability to think strategically and demonstrate flexibility to achieve long-range objectives
  • Self-motivated and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, and BlueBeam
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Employment may be contingent upon successful background checks, drug testing, and other pre-employment requirements
  • Preferred: experience with data center load management, load planning, capacity planning, or similar electrical load-management processes
  • Preferred: experience with customer-specific and site-specific electrical requirements
  • Preferred: experience with Excel VBA, macros, Power Query, Office Scripts, or other Excel automation capabilities
  • Preferred: familiarity with programming or scripting languages
  • Preferred: experience using automation, AI, or emerging technologies to improve engineering workflows
  • Preferred: previous experience sealing electrical plans and specifications in a high-volume project environment
  • Preferred: experience working in data centers, mission-critical facilities, or similarly complex electrical environments
