About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Drive projects independently throughout design and construction phases
Design mechanical and plumbing systems for data centers
Oversee production of mechanical designs, systems, and drawings
Collaborate with MEI staff, clients, vendors, owners, contractors, and external disciplines
Develop drawings and specifications with cross-discipline design teams
Coordinate with external vendors, internal design teams, and manufacturers
Select and schedule major equipment
Travel to job sites for site observations and client meetings as required

Requirements

What you’ll need

4+ years of professional mechanical engineering design experience designing mechanical systems for data centers or other mission critical projects
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Valid Mechanical P.E. license preferred
Experience working independently, managing priorities and providing mentorship to junior staff
Strong understanding of mechanical systems and energy codes
Ability to think strategically and demonstrate flexibility in order to achieve long-range objectives
Self-motivated, comfortable with ambiguity and motivated to work as a team
Top-notch organization, attention to detail combined with excellent written and oral communication skills
Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, BIM and Revit
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States
