About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Build end-to-end workflows including user interfaces, services, APIs and data models
  • Take products from early prototypes through deployment and ongoing use
  • Work directly with users to observe workflows, identify bottlenecks and translate feedback into requirements
  • Build integrations, imports and exports across unfamiliar systems
  • Handle inconsistent inputs, validation errors and access boundaries
  • Develop reusable components across products
  • Test, deploy, monitor and support shipped products
  • Investigate failures across the stack and improve performance and usability using production evidence
  • Scope useful releases and instrument important workflows
  • Assess whether changes help users
  • Communicate technical tradeoffs and collaborate with domain specialists

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4+ years of engineering experience
  • Experience shipping and maintaining working products across frontend, backend and database systems
  • Ability to build clear, interactive web applications
  • Ability to design APIs and data models
  • Experience integrating external systems
  • Experience debugging processing or storage problems
  • Ability to turn ambiguous requests into useful first releases
  • Ability to work closely with users and revise approaches based on evidence
  • Ability to learn unfamiliar workflows quickly
  • Ability to investigate problems independently
  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical and domain experts
  • Experience with data-intensive applications, media or document processing, or workflows involving human review is a plus
  • Practical experience building AI-enabled products and evaluating their behavior in use is a plus
  • Early-stage product development experience is a plus
